Joe Shuster in the seventies

Steven Thompson has unearthed some circa-1970s clippings of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, including this one of Shuster with Batman co-creator Bob Kane.

Click over to Booksteve’s Library for a look at the full scan, as well as one of an article featuring Siegel and Shuster from when they went public with their plight in the early- to mid-70s.

If you do some digging in Thompson’s archives at the blog, you’ll also find some other Siegel- and Shuster-related artifacts including an essay on the importance (or lack thereof) of ACTION COMICS #1 and a photo of Jack Kirby and Jerry Siegel (where would the comics industry be without those two guys?).
